The real daisies are preparing to bloom, so you can do the same with your crochet daisies. Get started now with this daisy free crochet pattern to have a full bouquet by the time summer rolls around.

As a note: I used acrylic yarn for this. If you are planning to make this as a coaster for HOT beverages, you may want to consider using cotton yarn to avoid the possibility of the acrylic yarn melting.

Stitches & Terms to Know

Ch – Chain
HDC – Half Double Crochet
MC – Magic Circle
SC – Single Crochet
Sl St – Slip Stitch

Other Supplies Used

Yarn Needle
Scissors

Notes:

  • Slip stitches and chains are NOT included in stitch counts at the end of each round.
  • Both rounds 1 and 2 should end up with 16 total petals.

Instructions:

With mustard, make a Magic Circle (or alternative)

Round 1: 6 sc in ring. Sl st to join. (6)

Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. Sl st to join. (12)

Round 3: 1 sc in next stitch. 2 sc in next stitch. Repeat around. Change to white on your slip stitch join. (18)

Round 4: * Chain 9. Sc into the 2nd chain from your hook. Hdc in the next 7 stitches. Sl st back into the gold stitch you started in. Sl st into next stitch. * Repeat between *s 14 more times. Chain 9. Sc into the 2nd chain from hook. Hdc in the next 7 stitches. Sl st back into the gold stitch you started in. Now, look on the back side of your flower and find the back of a gold loop. These loops will be in between two petals from round 1. Sl st into that loop. (8 stitches in each petal – 16 total petals)

Round 5: * Chain 9. Sc into the 2nd chain from your hook. Hdc in the next 7 stitches. Sl st back into the gold loop. Sl st into the next back gold loop. * Repeat between *s 14 more times. Chain 9. Sc into the 2nd chain from hook. Hdc in the next 7 stitches. Sl st bacak into the gold loop. (8 stitches in each petal – 16 total petals)

Then, fasten off and weave in all ends.
